Heewon Yang

Heewon Yang is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Baylor University. His research examines how immigration, race, religion, and political contexts shape the assimilation and civic incorporation of Asian Americans. His dissertation, “Remodeling the Model Minority,” explores political participation, residential preferences, and interracial relationships among Asian Americans. He currently teaches sociology at Texas Christian University and serves as a Graduate Fellow with Baylor’s Academy for Teaching and Learning.
