Unleashing the Image of God: A Book Launch with Perry L. Glanzer

What does it mean to know who we are—and how might our identity as bearers of God's image shape our purpose, vocation, and character?

Join the Institute for Faith and Learning for a book launch celebrating Perry L. Glanzer's new book, Unleashing the Image of God: Discovering Your Identity, Purpose, Vocation, and Character (Baker Academic, 2026).

Drawing on original qualitative research and the Christian theological tradition, Glanzer addresses the challenges of identity and self-definition facing young adults today. He explores what it means to understand our fundamental identity as people created in the image of God and considers the implications of that identity for human dignity, purpose, vocation, decision-making, and the cultivation of virtue.

The event will offer an opportunity to hear from Glanzer about the ideas behind the book and their significance for students, educators, and others interested in Christian approaches to identity, vocation, and human flourishing.

About the Author

Perry L. Glanzer, Ph.D., is Professor of Educational Foundations at Baylor University and Resident Scholar with Baylor's Institute for Studies of Religion. He also serves as editor-in-chief of Christian Scholar's Review.

Glanzer's research and writing focus especially on Christian education and higher education. He has authored, coauthored, or edited more than a dozen books, including Christian Higher Education: An Empirical Guide and the award-winning Unifying Christian Higher Education in a Fragmented Age. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
