Dr. Michelle Herridge
Assistant Director in STEM Education
Michelle Herridge, Ph.D., is Assistant Director in STEM Education with the Academy for Teaching and Learning. She has worked in Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER) since 2013 and earned her Ph.D. at the University of Arizona in Chemistry with a minor in Teaching and Teacher Education. Additionally, she has degrees in Chemistry and Sociology from Clemson University, and an M.S. in Chemistry from Missouri State University. Her research explores assessment and instructional practices, primarily in chemistry education, and professional development for graduate teaching assistants and new faculty.
In the areas of teaching and learning, Dr. Herridge focuses on implementing evidence-based research practices, collaboration and co-teaching practices, and assessment design and grading. Dr. Herridge sits on the Early Career Chemistry Education Scholars Committee with the American Chemical Society Division of Chemistry Education and has presented and published primarily in STEM Education. She enjoys teaching both science and non-science majors in a variety of introductory courses across campus, including in the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, the School of Education, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
